Our King Cake Kit contains everything you need (excepting wet ingredients) to make an authentic New Orleans Mardi Gras King Cake straight out of the box. Each package includes separate purple, green and gold decorative sanding sugars, cinnamon filling, cake mix, yeast packet, icing mix and the all-important plastic king cake baby. As this is a yeasted dough product, the dough is made first and allowed to rise before baking the cake. No special equipment or stand mix is required -- just use your hands. It is a fun way to bring carnival to places that don't have parades or to New Orleans expats homesick for NOLA. Each finished cake serves approximately six to eight people.
