A series that pulls motifs from the 1978 film “Watership Down,” BURROW questions the hidden morality and ethics of human consumption. You must eat to live; a living being must die for you to eat. Time spent processing meat rabbits challenges the mind to ruminate on the things we eat, the lives we take, and what comes after.

Savannah Rae Phillips was born and raised in Southeast Louisiana where she lives and works today. She holds two BA from Southeastern Louisiana University in communications and visual arts with a dual concentration in ceramics and photography and a French minor. Her work often addresses human relationships–both between each other and the environment that sustains us. She has a background working professionally with farmers and is interested in food systems and ecology. Savannah employs both wheel-throwing and hand-building in her work, paying special attention to experimentation with surface treatment to convey stories and evoke emotion.

@savannah_rae_phillips

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0514/3301/3445/files/SavannahRaePhillips_BURROW-WarreninGreen-7-SavannahRaePhillipscopy.jpg?v=1791579952
