My name is Jamie Adams, and I am an artist whose themes derive from a childhood spent in a profoundly religious family in North Alabama. Now, spirituality continues to be a prominent theme in my work. My art is characterized by vibrant colors, allusions to art history and pop culture. Most of my work is heavily sgraffito’d terracotta and black fritware.
I received my BFA in Painting from the University of Montevallo, and an MFA in Ceramics from Edinboro University of Pennsylvania. I currently work as an Associate Professor of Studio Art at Athens State University.
