Rey Hope Hansen (they/them) is a visual artist and educator specializing in handmade
functional ceramics. They are primarily self taught / educated through community and seek to make pottery knowledge more accessible to others. Since 2018 they have worked under the moniker “Hold Space Ceramics” as a member of Byrdie’s, a community pottery studio in the Marigny. They have sold their ceramic works around New Orleans at The Glitter Box, C’mere, Slow Down, Home Malone, Freda, Saint Claude Social Club, Potence Collective, and the Ogden Museum Store. Hold Space has shown at local festivals Bayou Boogaloo, Po-Boy Fest, Freret St Festival, and Festival International in Lafayette, LA.
