"We are all vessels, exploring our physical existence in whatever space we occupy—both swallowing our experiences up into our own form, and spitting those reflections back out for others to ingest.

I want to reach inside the mouth of ceramics and pull its innards out, flipping it inside out to expose its processes, then spin it around and send it in a whole new blind direction.

Recently becoming a mother, I have ruminated on the way my body becomes a tool and how that tool was also replicated in my daughter. Specifically, nipples and the intimate connection they have as a part of my body and the way they nourish, similar to cups. In this series of cups, I utilize my nipples in casted forms as; impressions, additions to forms, stamps and in substitution of parts of the cup themselves altering their use and viewers experience with them. My daughters' connection to the south is this being the place of her birth and the first few years of her life. A geographical marker and moment in time that she will relate to for the rest of her life as well as my inauguration into motherhood."
